Join the Pulp team!

The PULP Bookbinding Internship has become known for the incredible publications produced by previous interns over the past two years. Applications are now open for a new bookbinding intern!

The internship will start 17 February 2025 and will run for 3 months. Applications close on the 31 January 2025.

As an intern you will be working closely with the PULP team on all of their projects, and you will receive dedicated bookbinding skills training. During the final month of the internship, the bulk of your time will be spent producing your own publication. A publication budget is provided to you as part of the experience.

We are looking for someone who is working on or intending on starting a project with bookbinding as the main practice/mode of execution. It should be a creative publication that speaks to PULP’s audience as well as your own desired crowd.

Please respond at the link with your contact detailsCV and letter of motivation, as well as a short description detailing your project idea (although this might change once you have learnt more about the processes and the equipment you will have available, we would love to hear initial ideas and/or see a portfolio where a publication would fit in!). If you have not heard from us within 5 days of the application’s closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.

NB: This position is full time; no hybrid or remote work can be supported. Our studios are at Victoria Yards in 16 Viljoen St, Lorentzville, Johannesburg.

Best of luck!
